We are really getting our use of our National Parks Pass. We spent Labor Day up in The Grand Tetons as well as Yellowstone. We were in great company with my parents and grandparents. Oh lets not forget our Drew boy. We stayed at Colter Bay in some cute and rustic cabins. We had a great lunch and stagecoach ride in Jackson Hole. The weather was just perfect. We spent a full day driving the loop through Yellowstone. The kids loved the geysers at Old Faithful. They discovered a few that they named as their own. We spent our last day at Jenny Lake, where we took a boat ferry across the lake to hike to Hidden Falls. What a great way to spend our holiday and looks like a new tradition has been formed. We are on a quest for a bear and wolf. Also this picture below makes the entire trip worth it!
This restaurant was where Grandpa Shipley lived when he was a baby. Yes, just take your time buffalo. Little did he know that he had hundreds of cars lined up behind him. This is what makes Yellowstone.
After 2 years of taking Beck and watching him walk into Mrs. Lindley's school, Ira get's his turn. He has a class full of close friends. Brynn, Brackyn, Taycie,Dev,Ryder and Crew. Good Luck Jessica!
Beck started his first day at Meadow Elementary. He has Mrs. Caldwell. She is a new teacher. We met her last night and Beck got a tour of the class. He is very happy to be going to school. Last night we ran into a old preschool friend Maddie. She loves Beck and talks of marriage often to him. Last night when she saw Beck she walked up to him and said: "Beck I love you, I care for you, and I will marry you". Beck is clueless to it all. Luckily Beckham has his friend Beck in his class as well. Today Beck chose to ride the bus. Dad came home and we all walked together to the stop by our park. When the bus pulled up Beck was anxious to climb on. No hesitation in going to school. Tears filled my eyes as he waved goodbye to us out the front seat window. So proud of this boy. What great adventures he is going to have in Kindergarden.
Candice,Dave, Brit, Josh and Jon and I spent last weekend in Zion. Let's just say we had quite the adventure. It was a 11 1/2 hr hike through 3 canyons. We saw a lot of beautiful slot canyons. We also encountered some rotten mud that we trenched trough for several hours. Thankfully I entertained with my graceful rappelling techniques and water hole slips. Glad we made it and can mark this as an accomplishment.
