Beck Starts Kindergarden

Beck started his first day at Meadow Elementary. He has Mrs. Caldwell. She is a new teacher. We met her last night and Beck got a tour of the class. He is very happy to be going to school. Last night we ran into a old preschool friend Maddie. She loves Beck and talks of marriage often to him. Last night when she saw Beck she walked up to him and said: "Beck I love you, I care for you, and I will marry you". Beck is clueless to it all. Luckily Beckham has his friend Beck in his class as well. Today Beck chose to ride the bus. Dad came home and we all walked together to the stop by our park. When the bus pulled up Beck was anxious to climb on. No hesitation in going to school. Tears filled my eyes as he waved goodbye to us out the front seat window. So proud of this boy. What great adventures he is going to have in Kindergarden.

Birch Hallow, Oderville,and Narrows

Candice,Dave, Brit, Josh and Jon and I spent last weekend in Zion. Let's just say we had quite the adventure. It was a 11 1/2 hr hike through 3 canyons. We saw a lot of beautiful slot canyons. We also encountered some rotten mud that we trenched trough for several hours. Thankfully I entertained with my graceful rappelling techniques and water hole slips. Glad we made it and can mark this as an accomplishment.

Jon Turns 30

You must have a party when you turn the big 30!!! It was a party full of good friends and family and lots of food. J-Dawg for Jon on the big 30. My dad paid Jon a nice tribute and then the roast began. Candice and my brothers and their wives came up with this late night comedy sketch on Jon. Candice read a pile of Thank You cards that she found on Jon's nightstand. To great to forget.

Lake Powell 2011

What a great Lake Powell trip. The kids all love the Lake so much. So what if Ira calls it the Ocean. Beck has gotten extremely brave on the tubes. Ira was determined to ski one night so we stuck him on a knee board. I was not prepared with kids skis. Ruby spent hours and hours spotting fish in the water. We did our usual exploring. On our Smith Fork hike we pass lots of Tadpole pools and Frogs. Beck kept saying " Look another Tadpole Heaven". Meaning there were may swimming in a little hole of water. Lake Powell is made for kids and I am grateful for the memories my kids will have of this magnificent place. Summer would not be complete without our Ocean in Utah.
